One week in Ibiza
I love going to Ibiza to party, but also to admire all the beauty the island has to offer. Are you going to Ibiza for a week and want to make the most of it? I've already given tips for the ultimate party holiday. But what to do if you're going specifically to explore the island? Here are my favorites.
Ibiza Town
First and foremost, Ibiza Town. If you've never been to Ibiza and don't have much time for sightseeing, this is the must-see you shouldn't miss. Ancient streets, the church towering above everything, trendy boutiques, charming terraces, the impressive yachts in the harbor... For those who want to take a look in the evening as well: in the high season, it's very lively, and the clubs promote their parties with plenty of music and dance.
Party Time in Ibiza!
If you can only attend one party, choose Pacha. Have drinks on the terrace in Ibiza Town and then head straight out! Or start at Ushuaïa and then move on to Hï. Or head to Ibiza Rocks until 9:00 PM in San Antonio, admire the sunset at Café del Mar, and then go to Amnesia. Or... or... this is too difficult, and I'll leave it completely up to you! Everything is fun, just make sure you don't end up at a Flower Power party when you were looking for a Techno party.
Festival Club Ibiza
Festival Club, also known as El Club Abandonado. Opened in 1972 but unfortunately went bankrupt in 1974. The road there is a bit bumpy, but how cool is it here! The club was set up on a grand scale, and it's a bizarre idea that so much partying used to happen here. As you step inside, you have a beautiful view of the green surroundings. Walking down the stairs, you can see how amazing the club used to be. The most fantastic thing is definitely the graffiti that adorns every piece of concrete here, stunning!
Cala Salada and Cala Saladeta
Of all the coves and beaches, this is my favorite! You first arrive at Cala Salada, and to reach Cala Saladeta, you have to walk a bit. A mountain path leads you up and then down to the picturesque beach of Cala Saladeta. The moment you're halfway and standing at the top is definitely worth mentioning! What a view! I was with a friend, and we were really silent for a moment. And believe me, that rarely happens.
Formentera by Bike
A fun day trip if you're on holiday in Ibiza. First, take the ferry to Formentera from Ibiza Town, Figueretas, or Playa d'en Bossa. Then, rent a bike after arriving in the harbor (tip: rent it online in advance!). If you want a combination of shopping and beach, first cycle to the capital Sant Francesc Xavier and then back towards Illetes beach. A sandy road leads you there. Once you arrive, there's enough choice: will you go to a beach club, swim, or walk along the beach until you can't go any further?
Boat Trip to Cala Bassa and Cala Conta
Only recommended if you don't get seasick. This boat trip departs from the harbor of San Antonio and makes several stops at the most beautiful beaches. It's also cool to see them from the sea! Relax on the white sand of Cala Bassa and enjoy lunch at the Sunset Ashram beach club at Cala Conta. With a bit of luck, you can also snorkel somewhere, and how cool is it that you can admire the small islands off the coast of Cala Conta up close.
Es Vedra
The viewpoint is unfortunately closed as it became too crowded. From this point, you used to have a stunning view of Es Vedra in the sea. Luckily, you can still admire the rock from the beach of Cala d'Hort. Also a beautiful sight! With a bit of luck, you might see it when you fly in or when you depart. Or you might have already seen it during your boat trip to Cala Conta!
This is what I would do if I were spending a week in Ibiza for the first time! Also, don't forget to just relax for an afternoon with a cocktail by the pool, with that famous Ibiza sound in the background!
