The worst location of a hotel room
Of course, it's personal: the best location of a hotel room. What is the perfect spot in the hotel for one person might be annoying for another. Where your room or apartment is located in the building or on the premises can make or break your holiday. These are the rooms you definitely don't want during your holiday.
Room with a view of the dump
Whether it’s a public area with trash cans from the neighborhood across from the hotel or the place where all the old stuff from the hotel is dumped. You don’t want this view.
No one gets happy from this view!
The dead wall
Excitedly, you open the curtains upon entering... only to find out that your balcony overlooks a high wall separating the hotel from the neighbors.
Directly on the sun terrace
This is only enjoyable if your own balcony/terrace is somewhat screened with some plants or a nice fence. But do you know those apartments with terraces without any boundary, where everyone walks right past you?
At the back of the building
If you're placed at the back, it's not too bad if you're a bit higher up. But I've seen ground floor apartments. Everyone on the street then walks right past your balcony, and if you're in the middle of a nightlife area...
In the basement
This one's a treat! Staying in a hotel room "underground". You look at a wall from your terrace, and inside, you have almost no daylight. If you're unlucky, there are also sunbeds nearby.
A room with this view is, of course, fantastic!
Above the ventilation system
I've seen this once. A number of rooms, from a rather expensive hotel, located on the street side above the restaurant's ventilation system. Almost all day noise on your balcony.
High in the building
It's obviously beautiful! Staying on the 20th floor with a breathtaking view of the coastline. But there should be enough elevators. Having to wait fifteen minutes for the elevator every time is no fun. And now just hope you haven't forgotten anything once you're finally downstairs.
